Youth Based Intervention – Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)

  • Dialogue with local level service providers on SRHR for providing better services towards young men and women, with a focus on gender-responsive public service.

  • Provide local level media fellowship along with local journalists.

  • Organize knowledge fair on SRHR issues to sensitize communities and share SRHR findings with media.

  • Sharing meeting with journalists about key findings from the Public Hearing on SRHR issues.

This process went through:

  • Adolescent Focus Group Discussion

  • Issue selection and area selection

  • Orientation/training to prepare data collection

  • Key informant interviews and engagement with youths and gatekeepers

  • Building networks on SRHR issues along with citizens and youths

  • Mobilize young journalists on SRHR issues and influence them to publish findings

  • Data consultation, report preparation, and presentation to different stakeholders through a public hearing to understand the existing situation of SRHR services at local health service-providing agencies

All activities were done by youths, who also followed up on the findings of the public hearing

  • The sharing advocacy session was held at Bagerhat Press Club with the presence of youths and different key stakeholders.

  • Media coverage included a Media Café on SRHR in rural and urban spaces for visualized key stakeholders, and awards were given for best news coverage.

  • Training and Orientation on SRHR using CSC and SA tools, along with youths, LEB & CC

  • Advocacy meeting with Civil Surgeon for the availability of drugs according to drug chart at Community Clinics and service quality
